The Bently Nevada 3500/20 Rack Interface Module serves as the primary interface for the 3500 monitoring system rack and must be installed in slot one, adjacent to the power supplies. This module utilizes a specialized protocol to configure the rack and acquire machine data, working seamlessly with external communication devices including TDX net and DDIX interfaces.

The 3500/20 manages system-wide rack functions without interfering with the primary monitoring path, ensuring it does not compromise the safety functions of the monitoring system. Every 3500 rack requires this essential module for proper operation.

A specialized version is available for Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) systems, which compares data from three independent monitors to detect discrepancies. When one monitor provides readings that deviate significantly from the other two, the TMR RIM identifies the error and logs the event for further analysis.
